Program - IGCSE

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is an international program that allows students to receive a general secondary education in English. It was developed within the University of Cambridge and is intended for students in grades 9-10 in schools where instruction is conducted in English.

Students in grades 9-10 refine the skills they acquired in elementary and middle school and acquire new ones that will be necessary for academic success in higher grades and at the university level. Adolescents are given the opportunity to take on greater responsibility associated with transitioning from one grade to another, gain more opportunities for self-realization, and choose their own path.

At NB, students can choose one or several of over 50 elective subjects, participate in school clubs and community life, engage in sports, and benefit from the support of highly qualified educators. The ethical component of education is of great importance; the program is based on the ideas of sustainable development, alternative energy, and green economics.

Among the most important subjects are:

  1. Mathematics, including geometry
  2. Linguistics
  3. Social sciences, including world culture and U.S. history
  4. Natural sciences, physics, and geography
  5. Literature
  6. History

The university supports students in the IGCSE program and awards prizes and scholarships to the best students in the country or on a global level.
